Unlock by inserting the key and turning it clockwise. Pull the black hook side all the way out. Next turn key counter-clockwise to lock and remove key. Take the red hook side and place the hook around the brake pedal. Now take the black hook side and place the black hook around the bottom of the steering wheel. Insert the ribbed metal end back inside the body of the unit and push together until snug. Your vehicle is now protected. Since the locking mechanism uses a quad style key to protect against lock picking make sure the notch in the key is facing the dot on the lock. This will ensure the key is inserted properly. We suggest keeping the unit locked when not in use to prevent the end hook from coming completely out of the body. Maximum span for this lock is 27.5 inches. When fully extended overall length is 28.5 inches. Collapses down to 21 inches in total length. Includes 2 keys.
